Chronic illness

I am truly grateful I found Ann! She is an excellent practitioner, and has seriously changed my life in just a few weeks! I had tried acupuncture once before (about 10 years ago) but didn’t have a great experience then — I was highly anxious, and found it to be painful. But in recent years I’ve started to explore eastern medicine more — I thoroughly enjoy massage therapy and other similar treatments, so I decided to give acupuncture another try. I found Ann’s clinic and was ecstatic to learn that she accepts my health insurance. I was able to feel the benefits after my very first session with Ann. By the second session I told her, “I feel like I’ve been coming to you for a very long time.” That’s speaking to both the impact of her treatment, but also how comfortable she made me feel. My treatments with Ann have helped relieve not only physical pain (in my legs, upper back, hands, and arms), but also issues with anxiety, acne, digestion, and some female-specific issues as well. Ann starts every session with a consultation to check in on how I’m doing, but physically and mentally. Then based on what I share, she decides which meridians she will work on during that session. After the needles are inserted, she’ll leave me be with the needles for about 30-40 minutes. Those 30 minutes are where the magic happens! Sometimes I’ll drift into a nice nap, but if I stay awake I can feel all of the blocked energy getting unblocked. It feels like a warm wave washing over me and coursing through my body. It’s quite an incredible feeling, and there’s really nothing else like it. I always look forward to my sessions with Ann — they are the highlight of my week! I would recommend everyone to come see Ann. Whether you’ve had acupuncture done before or you’re a bit hesitant (as I was), Ann does a great job at making her clients feel comfortable and safe.

Ann is a healer who listens to her patients talk more intently than many classic western doctors. She then listens to the body through touch/ sight, and provides care by talking, touch, needles, etc. She also casually teaches sometimes while doing the treatment.

I came to see Ann originally for cupping because my back was in so much pain and so overwhelmingly tight I felt like I couldn't even stand up straight. The cupping helped immensely but she also did some pressure and point work that made me walk out feeling 10x better. Then we started diving into how herbs could potentially help my back and other ailments like acid reflux and skin dryness. It's feels so great to get a customized formula and Ann is so knowledgable. I'm so excited to have her in my corner!

I got my whole family to go to ann, from age 2 to old, from colds to complicated long term adult problems. She is so amazing at paying attention to a person’s body and figuring out how to help it heal. I’ve gotten a horrible run around from western doctors for decades. When they finally do a test that convinces them that I’m not just making things up, they confess that they recognize the problem but have no cure. Each separate doctor works on one square inch of one’s body, but don’t grasp how it all fits together. Ann can see patterns and connections and helps you learn to see them, by learning to trust your own body. And what she does really works!!

I’ve been meaning to post a review for forever about Ann and her work. It’s been a few years since I have visited her for treatment because I moved south to San Diego- but I still think about Ann often and how much she helped me. I initially saw her weekly for 5 months for neck and low back pain- but she helped me uncover so much more that was emotional and deeper. I still vividly remember many of the treatments and how I felt after. She is full of knowledge, extremely kind and caring, and really cares for her patients. She left a huge impact on me!

So, my acupuncturist moved away and she referred me to Ann. I HIGHLY recommend Ann as a practitioner. She is kind, serious (but not mean) and really intuitive and skilled. I love the area, parking is easy and the office is welcoming, calming and clean. Ann is a great listener and really cares. She got to the heart of my issues and needs and works quickly but you don't feel rushed at any time. Reasonable prices and I am SO glad I was referred to her. If you have trauma and/or chronic health issues...she is THE BEST. Yay! Onward. xoxo

Skillful, caring treatment. I was referred here by a friend and so glad she suggested it. I had LongCovid and was still suffering from headaches and some other issues 14 months in. I had two treatments so far and am feeling supported, and better. The office itself is beautiful -- relaxing and clean. The treatments very relaxing. So thankful to have access to Ann Cleary in this office, who is a skillful, caring acupuncturist.

Post partum

Ann is amazing!!! She treated me throughout pregnancy and early postpartum with acupuncture and herbs. She helped me with everything from digestive issues to random numbness and tingliness to pregnancy aches and pains to increasing my milk supply, the list goes on! She’s so thorough and a calming presence, I highly recommend!

If everyone went to see Ann, I’m pretty sure there would be world peace. She’s that good.

Ann's approach has a deep understanding of the body and its needs and an easy adeptness with the modality. I’ve never experienced such a competent and willing practitioner; always down to think deeply about a problem and always successful at coming up with the right solution. What a gift she has for listening to the body and responding to it.

The vibe is welcoming, accessible and flexible. Acupuncture can be super intimidating and confusing. Her willingness to help the patient through that intimidation is really unique - she can sense the patient's fear or unwillingness to go deeper, and can pivot to make them more comfortable by trying a different approach that is just as effective - if not more effective because the patient  is comfortable and open.
